Policies & Procedures

Art In Motion provides an opportunity for anyone to receive instruction in ballet, jazz, hip hop, creative ballet, tap and yoga. Our classes enhance student's physical coordination, cardiovascular conditioning, balance, flexibility and creativity. Our goal is to give participants the wisdom to understand, appreciate, and facilitate the art of motion. To better serve you, please review the following information.

Class Information and Rules:
Because dance is active and very physical, instructors like to have students dressed in proper dance clothing with appropriate shoes and their hair pulled back. Please no jeans after the first day. If there are any injuries or other ailments that may affect movement, please inform the instructor. No gum, food or drink is allowed during class time. On hot days, we do take water breaks but it is preferred that students do not have water bottles in class. Please make sure you or your child is hydrated and does what is necessary before class starts. Be prompt when picking up students, instructor's busy schedule may prohibit them from staying after class.

Parent Information:
Parents are not allowed inside the classroom unless there is a scheduled parent observation or if a facility has more than one activity scheduled in the space. If parents are in the same space during class time, it is asked that they remain quiet and respectful. Please be considerate, turn off cell phones, pagers and any other noise making devices.

If a parent needs to leave during class time, please inform the instructor. It is not the responsibility of the instructor to handle a student that is disruptive or not listening. Parents are asked to stay nearby, just in case. Parents with younger children are needed to help with shoe changes for classes that have more than one subject.

Tuition:
Art In Motion offers a session payment plan and a monthly payment plan depending on which facility you attend. If available at your facility, session plans allow you to pay in full and receive a discount. Session payment plans usually run from August-December and then from January-May.

Monthly payment plans are due the first week of the month. If a payment isn't made by the second week of the month, a $10 late fee is applied. Art In Motion reserves the right to deny your child's participation in class until the monthly fee is made. New students who enroll in the program during the middle of the month may be prorated for the first month depending on the facility. Art In Motion tuition fees run from $32-50 depending on the facility and class.

Drop In Fee:
If a student would like to try a class, there is a first-time-only $10 drop in fee.

Missed Classes:
Students can make-up missed classes by attending another class within their age group. Classes can only be made up within the month the class was missed. (Make-up classes can not be accumulative and there are no tuition deductions.) Please check to make sure the class you choose isn't full prior to coming.

Return Check Policy:
If a participant has a returned check, all payments from the time the check is returned to paying new tuition and fees must be made in cash. There is a $35 service charge for all returned checks.

Refunds/Closures:
Art In Motion must validate a refund. No refund or deduction is given due to illness, holidays, or closings due to weather conditions. If there is a refund request for a monthly tuition, Art In Motion must be contacted during the first week of the prepaid month to receive 75% of prepaid tuition. If a participant of the full session plan requests a refund, a $30 cancellation fee is applied before the remainder of the refund is given. Remainder refunds are calculated from the time the person contacts Art In Motion to the end of the session.

Art In Motion follows Washoe County School closures during inclement weather. If your school is closed, then dance is canceled.
